The Market Women and Men of Ipakodo/Ebute under Ikorodu-west Local Council Development Area (LCDA); the “Progressive Elites Club” and “Bobamayegun Obinrin of Ipakodo Kingdom” has a day celebration with the Sekunmade of Ipakodo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Shotonwa Animashaun, Hihg-Chiefs, Baales, Erelus, and families to grace the year 2024 Ipakodo Day Celebration at Oba Sekunmade’s Palace, Ebute/Ipakodo road, Ikorod-west lcda, Lagos State, Nigeria on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024.
This event was specially organised for the Ikorodu-west/Ebute-Ipakodo Marketers, and the Social Elite Clubs to express their individual group’s intention towards developing Ipakodo/Ebute communities.
A series of Marketers, Artisans, and Handy Professionals from the Ikorodu division were present to honour and appreciate His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Shotonwa Animashaun for his influential impact on fostering Ipakodo and Ikorodu-west developmental progress.
In an interview with the Iya Alaje general of Ikorodu division and Iya Oloja of Oluwo Idiko Market, Owutu, Agric- “Alhaja Feyintola Oritoke Jaiyesimi”, said, there is a need for government intervention and assistance at Ikorodu-west market places.
Says, out of the fifteen recognised existing markets in Ikorodu-west, only three are registered under the marketing structure of the local and State, which is affecting oneness in their midst due to lack of cordial relationships.
Alhaja Feyintola Oritoke Jaiyesimi suggested that if the government can intervene by building a modern market standard in Owutu market will help reduce the roadside traders and as well organised the market in promoting the commerce and industries in Ikorodu-west lcda at large for peaceful coexistence.
And urged the market women and men of Ikorodu-west to embrace unity and peace to enhance progressive commerce marketing.
Prayed for long life, prospect of the Land and good health for His Royal Majesty, Oba Bashiru Aremu Shotomiwa Animashaun, and also regard Iya’Oloja General Ikorodu West LCDA and Iya’Oloja Ebute Modern Market, Alhaja Mosuratu Poaramole for her effective effort towards ensuring their demands from the government becomes a reality.
In an interview with the Iya’lode Bobamayegun Obinrin Association of Ipakodo Kingdom, Princess Awotungase Eshilokun, said it is an added value to have their group present this year since they were not yet confirmed to affiliate with the Ipakodo Day Celebration then.
She thereby encourages the citizens and the sons and daughters of the Ipakodo Kingdom not to forget their heritage and to take advantage of the annual celebration as a platform for reunion and building their community together as a living witness.
She added that the entitled social clubs and the market women and men including the Ijoko-Agbas have made the year celebration a party day through their various contributions and activities knowing fully well that the country is going through a hardship economy, “We just have to dance off our sorrows and embrace social life is another alternative so that when the grace of Nigeria come to manifestation they won’t be found missing”, she emphasised.
Also in an interview with Queen Princess Akinmulero Mojisola, the Eta Iya’lode of Ikorodu Kingdom, said, the Bobamayegun Obinrin of Ipakodo Kingdom said their social gathering has been in existence since more than a decade ago which was initiated with the numbers of active Ten (10)members, but now over Three hundred (300) members including the club executives.
Says, Bobamayegun Obinrin of Ipakodo Kingdom’s vision is focused on assisting the less privileged children within their community through protection and guidance most especially when it comes to the female gender.
“We also participate in community activities through contributing our quotas towards its development”, she specified and finally appreciated His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Aremu Shotomiwa Animashaun and Olori for their effective effort towards ensuring the development of the Ipakodo Kingdom and its environs at large.
The Progressive Elites Clubs were entertaining and organised.
