The Lagos State Government, through its Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has commenced the construction of a new public toilet system in Ward C2, behind Oreyo Secondary School, Igbogbo/Baiyeku lcda, Lagos State, Nigeria.
This vital project, which aims to enhance public sanitation and hygiene, was facilitated by Hon. Hakeem Solawon, the councillor representing Ward C2, with the strong support of Bldr. Olusesan Daini, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

The initiative addresses a pressing need for improved public sanitation facilities. With a growing population and limited access to sanitary restrooms, the newly established public toilet system is expected to greatly benefit residents and reduce the incidence of public health issues associated with inadequate sanitation.

Hon. Hakeem Solawon, who spearheaded the project, expressed gratitude to Bldr. Daini for his continuous support and advocacy in the community’s development. “This project wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment and resources provided by the Chairman’s office,” Solawon stated during the foundation laying. “It reflects our shared dedication to improving the living standards in Ward C2 and ensuring that basic amenities are accessible to all residents.”

Bldr. Daini highlighted the importance of the collaboration between the council and the state government. “Our administration remains focused on projects that directly impact the well-being of our people. The course of this public toilet system is a testament to what can be achieved when local leadership and state resources align for the common good,” he said.
The facility, equipped with modern amenities and designed to accommodate high usage, is part of a broader effort by the Lagos State Government to improve public infrastructure across local councils.

The Executive Chairman also hinted at future projects to further enhance the infrastructure and public services in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
Residents of Ward C2 have enthusiastically welcomed the new development. Many have commended Hon. Solawon and Bldr. Daini for their proactive approach to addressing community needs and for demonstrating a clear commitment to service and governance.
