The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Otunba) Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), FCA, FCTI in synergy with the Legislative Arm, the Council-Manager and Management Team has organised Ward D and C’s 2025 budget stakeholders consultative forum with the Community Stakeholders, Youths and the residents under the Legislative Councilorship of Hon. Tejumaiye Adeyanju Julius, Councilor representing “Ward D”, Ajaguro, Ikorodu-west lcda and Hon. Dairo Olufemi, Supervisor for Budget Planning and statistics of Ikorodu-west LCDA today, on Monday, October 25, 2024, at the Alasalatu Agbaye Compound, Alasalatu Bus-stop, Ikorodu-west, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria to together their sincere challenges across the geopolitical wards of Ikorodu-west LCDA in preparation for the 2025 fiscal year.
The meeting started with a prayer by Hon. Tejumaiye Adeyanju Julius, Councilor representing Ward D, Ajaguro, Ikorodu-west lcda before the national anthem.
Speaking, the Council-Manager, Mr Adeola Tobun in his welcome address, stated the importance of the stakeholder consultative meetings is to gather the sincere needs and challenges of the communities from the people of each geopolitical Ward-by-Wards that make Ikorodu-west LCDA for the future development of Ikorodu-west through preparation for the 2025 fiscal year.
Executive Chairman, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO) FCA, FCTI, ably represented by Hon. Anifowose Olufemi, Secretary to the Local Council Development Area (SLG) during his speech, said “This forum is not just an opportunity for someone to speak alone, but it is also a chance for people to express their views”, Hon. Anifowose Olufemi urged the community stakeholders to share their thoughts openly and emphasised on how constructive dialogue is essential for fostering a sense of ownership and partnership in community development.
Building a sustainable future together, the future of Ikorodu-West depends on the ability to collaborate effectively by working together, sharing ideas, and supporting one another. “We can create a community that will meet the needs of the residents.” Let’s engage in future discussions, he encourages.
In the process of deliberation/matters of the day, Alhaji Temitayo Yusuf, Chairman, Joint CDA spoke on behalf of the Community Development Associations (CDAs) under the Ajaguro Axis appreciated the office of Executive Chairman, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO) and Head of Department, Planning, Budget, Research and Statistics with intend to include their pressing needs and demand in the year 2025 budget for the betterment the good people of Ward D and Ward C and other geopolitical areas under Ikorodu-west lcda.
Chief Orepitan Olayiwola Sikiru, Baale of Ajaguro, emphasised the agitation of Abule-Alfa down to Ojuoro phase 2 being the longest road in the Ajagunro environment. “It is very essential to us”, he said.
The Youth demands empowerment engagement and inclusion in governance, this will help eradicate the involvement of wrongdoings at the grassroots as well as the State and the Federal level.
The Executive Chairman, ably represented by his SLG, Hon. Anifowose Olufemi, calmly addressed all the issues highlighted, said all would gradually be attended to, and assured them of the implementation of their demands for the future development of Ikorodu-West at large.
In an interview, Hon. Tejumaiye Adeyanju Julius, Councilor representing Ward D, Ajaguro, Ikorodu West LCDA urged his constituents to be patient with the government. Stated further that the government understand their plights and is working assiduously to ameliorate all the issues affecting Ward D, Ajaguro as well as Ikorodu West LCDA environs at large.
He also assured his Constituents that as their Legislative Representative in the Council, he will ensure that their interest is being carried along on the Floor of the House by working in synergy with the Executive to achieve the needed Infrastructural development.
