On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the 33rd edition of the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKOADASS) took place at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall, Olubi Street, off Ayangbure Road by Owolowo Street. Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
This event was organized by the Ikodass Chairman, Engr. Rotimi Erogbogbo and his Executive cabinet to celebrate and promote Ikorodu cultural heritage, Ikorodu Youth chapter (NYCN) alongside showcasing the talents of hair stylists and fashion designers.
A distinguished assembly of dignitaries attended the event, including His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, as well as High Chiefs, Olusogbos, Baales, Erelus, Princes, and Princesses, thereby emphasizing the importance of youth engagement within the cultural framework of Ikorodu.
During the proceedings, Engr. Rotimi Erogbogbo presented a prestigious award to HON. PRINCE AZEEZ ADEBOLA ABIORO OKEMATTI in recognition of his significant contributions to the Ikorodu-Oga celebrations. This commendation highlighted his commitment to fostering cultural appreciation within the community.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Okematti articulated his heartfelt appreciation to the Ikorodu Cultural Renaissance Initiative (ICRI) and the esteemed dignitaries in attendance. He remarked, “I am profoundly honoured to receive this prestigious award at the 33rd Ikorodu-Oga Festival.” He further acknowledged the collective efforts of various stakeholders in promoting cultural awareness and heritage.
Prince Okematti expressed his gratitude for the presence of attendees, noting, “Your engagement reinforces the importance of preserving our cultural identity for future generations.” He emphasized that the award represents not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the collaborative endeavours of individuals and organizations dedicated to enriching the cultural significance of Ikorodu.
