Honourable Babajimi Adegoke Benson, a Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Defense, in collaboration with the Director General of iCARE Foundation, Mayor Muyideen Sanwoola, alongside the foundation’s management and staff, distributed over 3,000 essential items to the residents of Ikorodu division on Monday, November 24, 2024 at the Musical Village located on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Oke Ota-ona, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.

The distribution aimed to enhance the capacity of the local community included a variety of essential items such as vehicles, tricycles, generating sets, 300-litre deep chest freezers, solar-powered smart kiosks, industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, household solar-powered systems, vulcanizing machines, car washing machines, and gas cylinders, all provided at no cost. Furthermore, complimentary medical healthcare services and transportation stipends were extended to the healthcare attendees.
This Initiative is personally initiated by Rep. Benson to uplift, empower, and support the hardworking people as a form of renewing hope as well as to promote Ikorodu and Lagos State at large.

Honourable Benson encouraged recipients to take full advantage of this initiative to improve their livelihoods and bolster local capacities across the Ikorodu division and the broader Lagos State.

In his address, Representative Benson expressed a profound sense of responsibility and sincere gratitude to the residents for their support during the 2023 general election. He stated, “You all voted for the All Progressives Congress (APC), and it is imperative that you receive the benefits of democracy.” He articulated his belief that effective governance transcends policy formulation; rather, it centres on enhancing the quality of life and creating opportunities for the populace. He concluded by affirming, “Thank you for your confidence in me.”
