His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji (JP), The Eweye of Isiu, in collaboration with the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS) has successfully organized the grand finale of the 2024 Isiu Eweye Day Celebration, yesterday, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at JTF Ground, Isiu, Ikorodu North LCDA, Lagos State, Nigeria.

A noteworthy highlight of this event was the commissioning of a 2-kilometre network of roads, facilitated through the efforts of Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Member of the House of Representatives for the Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Defence.

This initiative aims to foster unity among the sons and daughters of Isiu, both domestically and internationally, while also promoting the community’s rich cultural heritage for developmental purposes.

The ceremony was conducted by HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji, who was accompanied by his Chiefs. In his remarks, the Oba emphasized that the road construction had been long-awaited and expressed gratitude for the timely intervention of Rep. Benson. He recognized other key stakeholders, including Buldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, the Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Senator Abiru, and various government officials, commend them for their unwavering support of community development in Isiu.

The Director General of iCARE Foundation represented Hon. Benson at the event and extended apologies for the Representative’s absence. He assured attendees of Rep. Benson’s commitment to advancing community infrastructure in Ikorodu Division, highlighting that effective road development often leads to the construction of multiple road networks, thereby enhancing overall accessibility.

Buldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to all attendees, both dignitaries and visitors, for their participation in the 2024 Isiu Eweye Day celebration. He congratulated The Eweye of Isiu on this significant developmental milestone and pledged ongoing financial support towards ISEDASS initiatives.

Additionally, High Chief Adewunmi Adedeji Ogunsanya, Chairman of Multichoice Nigeria Ltd. and the Odofin Erujeje of Ikorodu Division announced a substantial donation of ten million naira to support the efforts of ISEDASS, alongside Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru.

The event concluded with a variety of refreshments and numerous educational capacity-building activities, reflecting the community’s commitment to growth and development.
