Sir Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, FCA, KJW, a prominent elder statesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a Member of the Governance Advisory Committee (GAC), organized the 2025 Annual New Year Party yesterday, Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Solomade Estate, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

This event convened children, political leaders, elites, and party members to celebrate themes of unity and progress.

The occasion attracted key figures from various sectors, highlighting the importance of collaboration and a shared vision for advancing the sustainability of the Lagos State Local Council Development areas (LCDA) and stabilizing the 57 local government areas to be listed in the constitution as 57 LGAs at the Federal level.

During his address, Ogunleye reflected on the previous year’s achievements and encouraged aspirants seeking his counsel to feel assured they were not overlooked. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining the party’s status quo, stating, “The Party decides,” and underscored that the majority carries significant influence in voting matters.

Attendees were encouraged to unite their efforts for the advancement of both their communities and the nation. The gathering fostered an atmosphere of optimism, with participants engaging in constructive discussions concerning the forthcoming local government elections and strategic directions.

This annual celebration functioned as a networking platform and reinforced interpersonal relationships among party members, promoting a sense of solidarity as they prepared to face new challenges. As the evening progressed, the commitment to progress and purpose was palpable throughout the venue, marking a noteworthy occasion in the political calendar.

The “Amazon”, group of female aspirants in politics led by Aarebinrin Hon. Princess (Dr) Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) and Executive Vice Chairperson of Ikorodu Local Government presented a New Year gift to the APC Elder Stasteman, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye in honour of his outstanding leadership.

Notable attendees included Hon. (Dr) Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development; Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA), Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ikorodu Constituency 1;  Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government; Bldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA; and Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), Chairman of Ikorodu-West LCDA; alongside various political leaders, local government aspirants from the ruling party and members.
