Hon. Chief Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), FCA, FCTI, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), commemorated his 57th birthday through a significant event that included various stakeholders. The celebration was attended by political leaders, Honorable Councillors, staff members, management teams, residents of Ikorodu-West LCDA, children, as well as The Diamond Mothers (Abiyamo abioja’gborogboro), groups and associates yesterday, Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at the council secretariat in Ikorodu-West lcda, Lagos State, Nigeria.


This year’s celebration was distinguished by introducing an international game competition titled “SKO Scrabble Championship 2025.” This initiative not only marked the Executive Chairman’s birthday but also aimed to promote educational resilience within the community, thereby positioning Ikorodu-West as a leading local council development area in Lagos State. Notably, this initiative is the first of its kind in the Ikorodu Division.

The Scrabble competition featured 32 participants categorized into groups of four, culminating in the recognition of the top three performers.


Mr. Sobowale Olumide Sulaimon emerged as the champion, receiving a cash prize of Two Hundred Thousand Naira from Hon. SKO, who is affectionately referred to as “eleyinju’anu.” The second-place winner was awarded One Hundred Thousand Naira by Mr. Adeola Tobun, the Council-Manager, while Mrs. Benson granted the third-place recipient Fifty Thousand Naira.


Compensated the young participants with Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) only per person.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Hon. SKO underscored the cognitive benefits of Scrabble, characterizing it as a game that promotes critical thinking and precise language usage. He expressed his intent to establish the Scrabble Championship as an annual event, where participants would accrue points based on their victories, fostering a competitive atmosphere within the community. Hon. SKO also pledged to enhance the cash prizes in future competitions, affirming, “It is our project.”

In an interview with Hon. Ayotade Gbadegesin, President of The Diamond’s Mothers extended her heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Chief Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), FCA, FCTI. She expressed his hopes for many additional years of success in progressively impactful roles that uplift the community.
The Diamond’s Mothers initiative was established under the esteemed leadership of the late Alhaja Sakirat Afolake Badru Nee Enifeni, whose efforts have played a significant role in empowering women and fostering solidarity among mothers in the community. Her pioneering work sets a noteworthy standard for future leaders and exemplifies a commitment to social advancement.
