Dr. (Hon) Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has organized a youth training program focused on Digital Skills in Website and Blog Creation, Branding for Business Advertising, and Entrepreneurial Development.

The event was conducted on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Local Government Secretariat in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. This initiative was facilitated by the Director of Lagos State Government Office of Rural Development (CERUD), Mr. Balogun Musibau Muyiwa with the approval of His Excellency Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

The initiative aims to enhance the resilience and capacity-building efforts of the youth in the Ikorodu Division.

Mrs Kikelomo Bolarinwa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, commended Dr Agbaje for this commendable initiative and acknowledged his unwavering commitment to the development of Ikorodu and the empowerment of its youth.

The training was segmented into two sections:

  1. Business Branding: Focused on Branding for Value Recognition.
  2. Website and Blog Creation: Aimed at business promotion and advertisement.

Upon completion of the training, participants were awarded certificates for reference.

In a recent interview, Dr. Agbaje emphasized the importance of participants providing feedback regarding their fundamental production needs to promote self-reliance. He outlined both past and ongoing capacity-building initiatives for youth implemented by the Lagos State Government, underscoring the administration’s commitment to ensuring that all youth and citizens are included and supported in these developmental projects. Dr. Agbaje’s focus on empowerment illustrates a dedicated effort to create opportunities and resources that enable individuals to thrive within their communities.

Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa articulated her conviction that the initiative focused on brand and website/blog creation will play a pivotal role in empowering the youth of the Ikorodu division and facilitating job creation.

She remarked, “Our decision to host this program today has proven to be a prudent one, and I firmly believe it will significantly contribute to the socio-economic advancement of the Ikorodu division.” Encouraged the participants with the notion of “Learn, unlearn, and relearn,” underscoring the necessity of adaptability in the ever-evolving landscape of today’s economy.

Additionally, she expressed her profound gratitude to Mr. Governor for granting approval for this commendable initiative and acknowledged the Special Adviser for his valuable contributions to the program.
