The Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Executive Chairman Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), FCA, FCTI, in collaboration with Council Manager Mr. Adeola Tobun, the Legislative Arm, Management Team, and all Staff Members, extends a warm welcome to the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission (LSLGSC) on its visit to Ikorodu-West LCDA on Thursday, May 23, 2025. 

The purpose of this visit was to assess the well-being and conduct of the staff and management following the public service rules and regulations.

The delegation was led by Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu, Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, representing the Badagry Division, alongside Commissioner One (1) representing the Lagos Division, Hon. Hakeem Adisa Bamgbola; Commissioner Two (2) representing the Epe Division, Hon. Ahmed Ayinde Seriki; Commissioner Three (3) representing the Ikeja Division, Hon.Taofeek Adaranijo MHR; and other administrative officials.

The Lagos State Local Government Service Commission (LSLGSC) serves as a regulatory entity responsible for overseeing the operations of local governments and local council development areas in Lagos State, Nigeria. Its primary functions include the recruitment, promotion, deployment, discipline, and transfer of local government employees on Grade Levels 07 to 17, excluding delegated areas.

In his welcoming remarks, Hon. SKO expressed his joy at the presence of the LSLGSC officials and assumed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the Lagos State LCDAs to operate as Local Government Areas (LGAs), citing the effectiveness and diligence of Ikorodu-West LCDA in community development and infrastructure enhancement.

Mr. Adeola Tobun, the Council Manager of Ikorodu-West LCDA, presented a feedback report highlighting the recent positive developments within the Local Council Development Area. He pointed out notable projects such as the “West End Event Centre” and the new Executive Chairman’s Office as significant accomplishments under Hon. SKO’s leadership, distinguishing Ikorodu-West LCDA from other LGAs and LCDAs within the Ikorodu Division.

Furthermore, Mr. Tobun acknowledged the unwavering support provided to staff members by the Executive Chairman, ensuring their well-being is prioritized. He also referenced a recent generic training for staff conducted in the past two weeks, with a commitment to future training sessions tailored to specific needs.

The Council Manager indicated that a harmonious relationship prevails within the Local Council, noting the absence of any issues concerning the collaboration between the Executive Chairman and staff members.

In a sensitisation address delivered by Mrs. Bibilomo Olushekun, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Office of Local Government Establishments and Training, ably represented by Mrs. Olaogun Dada, Director of Examination and Training, there was an emphasis on the necessity for the Council-Manager, Mr. Adeola Tobun, to engage administrative officers in Knowledge Sharing Sessions (KSS) to enhance their understanding of public service rules and regulations.

It was proposed that this training occur bi-monthly with a focus on transitioning to a digital framework.

The staff expressed their gratitude as Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu announced a cash gift for the Ileya festival, to be provided by Executive Chairman Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), FCA, FCTI.
