By Araba, Olawale Enifenilanfe:

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ikorodu Local Government Area, under the leadership of Hon. Waheed Oladimeji Animashaun, in collaboration with the APC Ikorodu Local Organising Committee (LOC), led by Hon. Riliwon Ishola Jinodu, commonly known as R.I. Jinodu, along with its secretary, Mr. Kehinde Ayanbadejo, conducted an important visit to the Omitoro traditional stakeholders, specifically the Council of Baales.

This visit signified the commencement of the Ward-to-Ward campaign, which began in “Ward A” on June 23, 2025.

The primary objective of this campaign is to formally introduce the APC Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega, and his Vice, Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, along with the Councilorship candidates, in preparation for the upcoming 2025 local government election.
This initiative seeks to secure a significant number of votes to facilitate strategic preparations for the 2027 presidential election and to support the aspiration for Ikorodu to eventually attain a governorship.

The traditional leaders expressed their essential concerns, which were acknowledged and documented accordingly.

The APC Flagbearers, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega and Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, were formally introduced to the Council of Baales to receive traditional prayers and blessings, which were graciously accepted by all attendees.

Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega assured the residents of Ward A that he would address their requests, establish platforms for the Community Development Associations (CDAs) encompassing infrastructural development, road maintenance, and other pressing needs.
He emphasised the importance of ongoing consultation with the community to remain attuned to their requirements.
“Our administration will prioritise transparent governance rather than imposition”. This government will serve all citizens—‘Prosperity for all’ embodies our commitment to inclusive governance,” stated Prince Ladega.

The essence of this campaign extends beyond mere voting; it aims to strategically enhance the vote margin in anticipation of the 2027 presidential election and to foster discussions regarding the governorship position for Ikorodu.
