On June 18, 2025, the inauguration of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward-to-Ward campaign activities was successfully conducted.
The LOC has actively engaged with key traditional stakeholders, as well as religious leaders from both the Muslim and Christian communities, thereby ensuring comprehensive outreach across the seven geopolitical wards for the introduction of the APC flag bearers.
Prominent candidates include the Ikorodu Local Government APC Chairmanship candidate, Honourable Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Abayomi Ladega, in conjunction with his Vice, Honourable Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba.
The Councilorship candidates consist of Honourable Idris Shokunbi (Councillor for Ward A), Honourable Mutiat Fatuga (Councillor for Ward B), Honourable Murisiku Shafari (Councillor for Ward C), Honourable Wasiu Shotomiwa (Councillor for Ward D), Honourable Lateefat Egbetokun (Councillor for Ward E), Honourable Oluwakemi Braimoh (Councillor for Ward F), and Honourable Dimeji Oshikoya (Councillor for Ward G).
The LOC’s Ward-to-Ward campaign activities concluded on July 2, 2025, in preparation for the significant results anticipated in the upcoming Lagos State Local Government Election scheduled for July 12, 2025.
This campaign is strategically designed to secure a substantial electoral mandate that will further enhance Ikorodu’s standing with respect to the Governor in the context of the 2027 Presidential General Election.
The APC Party Chairman for Ikorodu Local Government Area, Alhaji Waheed Oladimeni Animashaun, alongside LOC Chairman Honourable Riliwan Ishola Jinodu, commonly referred to as R.I. Jinodu, has urged the residents of Ikorodu to participate actively in their respective polling units across the Wards and to vote en masse on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in favor of the APC candidates.
In preparation for the elections within the Ikorodu Local Government Area, the APC is focused on achieving an impressive voter turnout that will bolster Ikorodu’s profile for the impending gubernatorial negotiations for the 2027 Presidential General Election.
Upcoming activities include the planned Ikorodu Division APC mega rally on July 9, 2025.
The Ikorodu division encompasses six distinct areas: Ikorodu Local Government Area (LGA), Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu-North LCDA, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Ijede LCDA, and Imota LCDA.
In light of this APC campaign and the introduction of the flag bearers, it is paramount for all citizens to fulfill their civic duty by exercising their right to vote. It is essential to recognize that neglecting to vote undermines one’s ability to express concerns effectively.
