The APC Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun and the APC Secretary,( Ikorodu LGA)Mr. Kehinde Ayanbadejo alongside other  political Party leaders has inaugurated the Ikorodu Local Government INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Implementation Committee at the APC Ikorodu Local Government Areas’ Party Secretariat, located on Awolowo Way, Oke Ota-Ona, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria on Monday, August 25, 2025, to foster Continuous Voter Registration across the geopolitical wards and zones under the Ikorodu local government area.

The committee members are as follows:

1. Chairman of the Committee; “Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, The APC Ikorodu LGA Party Chairman”,

2. Co-Chairman of the Committee; “Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area”,

3. State Representative of the Committee; Dcns. Wonuola Aderibigbe Oshinowo, Lagos-East Senatorial APC Woman Leader,

4. Operations of the Committee; Ikorodu LGA APC Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Ayanbadejo,

5. Publicity Secretary of the Committee; Aareebinrin  Hon. Princess Dr.(Dr)Folashade Olabanji-Oba,

6. Inec Liaison of the Committee; Alfa Omotayo,

7. Technical of the Committee; Mr. Abayomi Ogunboye,

8. Mobilisation; APC Ward Chairmen to Nominate,

9. The seven Ward Councillors in— Mobilisation,

10. Market Representative; Iya’Oloja General.

In an interview with the Lagos East Senatorial APC Woman Leader, Dcns. Wonuola Aderibigbe Oshinowo, said the Major leaders of the Committee are the Ikorodu LGA APC Party Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun; Co-Chairman of the Committee; Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area; herself, the State Representative of the Committee; Dcns. Wonuola Aderibigbe Oshinowo, Lagos-East Senatorial APC Woman Leader; Operations of the Committee; Ikorodu LGA APC Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Ayanbadejo and Publicity of the Committee is Aareebinrin Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba to coordinate and foster the CVR, while the Ward Chairmen of the Seven Wards that make up Ikorodu local government area are to coordinate their individual Wards and zonal areas to encourage more unregistered people to come out for the CVR.  

We only have ten months to commence the inner primary elections for the 2027 Presidency, Governorship as well as the other federal legislative offices. “This is why the Continuous Voter Registration is very significant”, she said.

Despite Ikorodu being known to always get the highest votes, Dcns. Oshinowo urged the good people of Ikorodu local government area to come out en masse for their PVC registration for Ikorodu to get the increase in the large numbers of votes envisaged, for the superior stakeholders to be able to negotiate for the 2027 Ikorodu for Governor. 

Also in an interview with Aareebinrin Hon. Princess (Dr)Folashade Olabanji-Oba,  immediate past Executive Vice Chairman of Ikorodu local government area, said the programme was all about the inaugural meeting of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Committee for INEC, the Ikorodu Local Government Area All Progressives Congress (APC) being a partnership that is so much needed at this period of time. “We all know that politics is a game of numbers, and so for us in Ikorodu, we are all about the numbers, knowing that Ikorodu as always been united in driving the peoples project”.— This is to letting people know that the power that is in and everyone of us hands are their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) in regards to democratic aspect of view, “Right to choose and right to vote” and knowing that in our chooses there are consequences. And so not participating is a No-No idea despite the Ruling Party has made it easier for the citizens to partake in the ongoing CVR which makes it no more excuses for one not to participate. 

Talking about the Ikorodu Local Government Area now, the mission is to reach out to the geopolitical zones, where each zone has their CVR agent to assist the people with the registration of their PVC. — coming out with a kind of structure that will mobilise every stakeholder in the community, saying, everybody matters through having the youth representative, the Market representative, religious representative, the Chairman and the Councillors, Wards Chairmen including the King and Chiefs as well as the leadership of the Ruling Party. 

Aarebinrin Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba also in her speech extended gratitude to the Ikorodu APC Party superior leaders, such as Sir Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, the Ikorodu Division APC Apex Leader and co. for really leading. “We are blessed in Ikorodu to have quite essential leaders, leaders that are excellent personnel for keeping everyone united as one big family”.— Assuring the good people of Ikorodu that the APC Party secretariat, located on Awolowo Way, Oke Ota-ona are well equipped with ICT equipment for the registration of their PVC.

Renewed hope for everyone; “When there is hope, an abundance of great possibilities do happen”, said this to encourage the citizens and residents of Ikorodu Local Government Area to come out in large numbers for the registration of their PVC.— “Your PVC is your identity”, she said.

Details will be revealed soon as the training and development of registration agents towards and zones will commence on Monday, September 1st, 2025.
