In regard to the promise made during the recent local government election campaign that his administration will be a listening government; Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega, The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area (LGA) and his Vice Chairman, Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba alongside the Councillor representing the good people of Ward B (Aige/Solomade) geopolitical territory, Hon. Mutiat Fatuga has visited Ward B geopolitical jurisdiction, the Council Manager, Mr. Johnson Agiri and management team on Wednesday (today), September 3rd, 2025 at Solomade street, behind the Ayangburen Palace, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria to hear the pressing needs of the people at the grassroots level and subsequently proffer solutions to them.

The Chairman’s listening tour is scheduled to reach out to the seven (7) geopolitical wards that make up Ikorodu Local Government Area (LGA), starting from Ward A and Ward B today, while tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, 2025 is scheduled for Ward C, D, and E and Friday, September 5, 2025, for Ward F and G.

This tour serves in relationship with His Excellency Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu’s State slogan— “Inclusive governance”.

In a speech delivered by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu LGA, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega said the main essence of these listening tours is to listen to the pressing needs of the of the people at the grassroots for him to understand the peculiarities of each ward and prioritise their demands.

Said, for the community to know that he has the people and his promise at heart, that is why he is here to know the exact needs of the people in other to avoid self-discretion provision that might lead to what the communities do not really need.

After hearing from the Community Development Associations (CDAs) Chairmen within Ward B axis, which includes, Solomade Estate CDA, Sasuba CDA, Igbooluwo Estate CDA, Lowa CDA and others, Hon. Prince Ladega said the listening tour is to hear from the grassroots for Him to know where to effectively hit the ground running, knowingfully well that when there are stakeholders meeting, there might be no privilege to pronounce the community’s interests which will also arrange everyone’s statements in one.

Using the medium to appreciate the people for voting him in as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu LGA, and thanking the communities for coming out enmass to vote in the recent local government election.
Most significantly, the 2027 general election is upcoming, Hon. Prince Ladega urged the people to go out and register their PVCs in the CVR exercise. “Change is constant”, advised the people who had not registered their PVCs to ensure they registered their PVCs to achieve the highest number of voters in Ikorodu LGA ahead of the 2027 Presidential and gubernatorial elections and to also be able to negotiate for Ikorodu for governor in the next dispensation of state and federal governance. Said, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu LGA, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega.

Hon. Mutiat Fatuga, Councillor representing Ward B geopolitical axis, said, the new dispensation is not analogue in nature, but digitally inclined— “This is digital government and this is what we want;I never knew the youth governance would be as interesting”, Out of a hundred projects to be accomplished, none has yet been revealed, she said.

Addressed the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu LGA, Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba as the silent abacus, and concluded by tagging the Executive Chairman as the “Act” and not Art. “This is uniquely different, it has never happened before”. Hon. Fatuga Mutiat pronounced.
