The Office of the National Coordinator / BOT-Chairman of the ABAT 2-Million Farmers Association— Apostle Farmer Hon. Victor Olusegun Odunsi (B.Agric, UNIFE, 1988; MBA, Marketing, LASU, 1998), Deputy Chairman, BOT and Mrs. O.O.T. Benson (Retired Permanent Secretary & Pioneer Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Maryland, Lagos State), hereby extend a congratulatory message to all participants of the ABAT 2-Million Farmers Association’s Third Anniversary Celebration and Annual Lecture Series held at the Island Club on September 29, 2025. This message acknowledges the valuable contributions and presence of all attendees.

The lecture was presented by Dr. Olaiwole Onasanya, Ph.D. (Agronomy), F.LEAD, RSS, MSSN, MNES, MCIOD, Retired Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Public Service. The theme of the lecture was “Agriculture as the Engine Room for Economic and National Development in the Three Tiers of Government of Nigeria.”

During the session, a lot of sensitisation on agriculture as a foundational engine for Nigeria’s economic and national development was said to be done. Dr. Onasanya present the efforts of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration in Agriculture.

Highlighted The Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Program (RHAMP)—The launching of 2000 tractors as the first tranche; 2000 tractors with associated implements and 10 combine harvesters were launched.
Said, The 2000 tractors and associated implements has the potential of cultivating 550,000 hectares and was produced in partnership with the Belarus. It is expected to produce over 2million metric tonnes of staple food, create more than 16,000 jobs and benefit over 550,000 households. There will also be support and training and they will be fixed with GPS trackers.
Green Imperative Project(GIP), which is expected to play an important role in the transformation of agriculture in Nigeria. It has 5 steps, mainly Technology Transfer, Capacity Building, Assembly Plants, Service Centers and Support to Small Holder Farmers.
Recapitalization of BOA with 1.5 trillion Naira intended to boost agricultural finance and support farmers. It is a major investment in Agriculture.
Increased budgetary allocation to agriculture. For example 200 billion Naira was a direct agricultural intervention and part of it was the distribution of 2.15 million bags of fertilizer to farmers.

Establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development— Enlightenment from the lecturer of the day, Dr. Olaiwole Onasanya, Ph.D. (Agronomy), F.LEAD, RSS, MSSN, MNES, MCIOD, Retired Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Public Service.

The President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was recognized and presented with Excellence and Competency Award by Apostle Farmer Hon. Victor Olusegun Odunsi to Mrs O. O. T. Benson on his behalf.

Apostle Farmer Hon. Victor Olusegun Odunsi extends profound gratitude to God Almighty for the successful outcome of this event. “When God grants permission, no one can oppose. Through this gathering, we have observed divine intervention in Nigeria, heralding a promising and productive future.”
The gratitude also extends to the over one thousand members present who demonstrated their commitment by covering their transportation expenses to attend from fifty-seven Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas across Lagos State.
This remarkable dedication underscores the program’s exceptional quality, inspired by the esteemed leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
The National Coordinator, Hon. Farmer Apostle Victor Oluwasegun Odunsi, encourages all coordinators to enhance the membership drive, aspiring to engage a larger number of farmers to support our primary objectives:
- Achieving food security in Nigeria.
- Continuously creating jobs across various farming and production categories (small, medium, and large).
- Ensuring the ongoing provision of industrial raw materials.
- Contributing to the sustained growth of Nigeria’s GDP.

During her address, Mrs. Charis Abiodun Olubunmi Akinsanya, JP, FCA, acknowledged the unwavering support and prayers of the farmers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. As Matron of the ABAT 2-Million Farmers Association, she highlighted the necessity for collaboration to advance agricultural development for national economic growth.
In conclusion, Apostle Farmer Hon. Victor Olusegun Odunsi implores all members to remain steadfast and optimistic toward a brighter and more prosperous future for Nigeria.
