This event was facilitated by Hon. Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, S.A. to the Governor on Rural Development, and overseen by a designated contractor, who anticipated the road construction project to be completed within six months. The project will incorporate a 7.5-meter-wide drainage system on both sides of the road and solar streetlights to enhance security measures.

In his address, Hon. Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje underscored that the objective of this road construction initiative is to establish a connection between the main road from Pashoku Street and the larger thoroughfare, thereby creating a crucial linkage that can facilitate positive development within the community.

Dr. Agbaje further urged the contractors to adhere strictly to the stipulated terms of their contract, assuring them that, if they fulfil their obligations, he is confident that the Governor is prepared to undertake additional projects for the community, given that this area is classified as a typical rural zone.

In a recent address, Honourable Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA), a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency 1, emphasised the significance of the 360-meter road project for the residents of Ladejobi Street as well as the surrounding community.

He noted that many of the houses in the area have existed for several decades, highlighting the community’s need for development that has long been overdue.

Honourable Ogunleye extended gratitude to His Excellency Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to the construction of these vital roads. He commended the governor for his ongoing initiatives and encouraged him to persist in his efforts, reaffirming that the community will continue to seek further improvements and additional road projects in Ikorodu.

The Ikorodu Division represents one of the largest councils within Lagos and has remained undivided since its establishment. As the fastest-growing city in Lagos, following Lagos municipal city, it requires focused attention concerning infrastructural projects.

Honourable Ogunleye expressed appreciation to His Excellency for the successful realisation of this project and implored him to undertake further developments, stating that the community will persistently advocate for additional infrastructure enhancements.

In conclusion, he sincerely thanked the governor for this initiative, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the positive impact it will have on the community.

In a speech delivered by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Honourable Prince Abdullateef Adedayo Ladega, emphasis was placed on acknowledging the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during an address to the community, highlighting their significant contributions to previous electoral campaign efforts.

Honourable Ladega expressed gratitude towards His Excellency Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for the commendable initiatives he has implemented across the state. He noted, “The Executive Chairman along with the Local Council Development Area Chairmen in Ikorodu division is committed to the construction of inner roads. However, the support of the Special Adviser on Rural Development to the Governor, Honourable Dr. Agbaje, has been instrumental in facilitating the large-scale road construction project.”

Furthermore, Honourable Prince Ladega called upon the youth of the community to actively support the road construction initiatives by ensuring security and fostering a collaborative relationship with the contractor, coordinated through the Chairman of the Community Development Association for job engagement purposes.

The contractor responsible for the construction of the 360-meter road expresses gratitude to the representatives from Ikorodu, ranging from the State to the Local Government Area, for their support in facilitating effective operations at the grassroots level.

The contractor elaborated on the planned features of the road construction project, which includes two-sided covered drainage systems measuring 7.5 meters and the installation of solar street lights.

The contractor thereby seeks the collaboration of the youth, as referenced by their Community Development Association Chairman.

The meeting concluded with a closing prayer delivered by the Chairman of the Ladejobi Street Community Development Association.
