This engagement was conducted under the guidance of the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Sheikh Seifudeen Olowooribi, and other prominent Islamic leaders including the Chief Imam of Ikorodu Central Mosque and the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque, Sheikh Yahya Olohunisebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi (Assamadaani).

This visit, held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, was dedicated to introducing the APC flag-bearers, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adebayo Ladega and his Vice, Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, along with seven Councillorship candidates representing Wards A, B, C, D, E, F, and G of Ikorodu LGA.

The initial engagement commenced with a courtesy visit to Sheikh Seifudeen Olowooribi’s residence in the Adaraloye area, where the APC candidates expressed their commitment to fostering sustainable development in Ikorodu LGA and actively involving the Muslim community in their governance.

Recognising the importance of divine support, Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba called for prayer assistance to ensure the sustainable development of Ikorodu, aiming to build upon the achievements of the current Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, and to inspire further progress.

In this context, both candidates, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adebayo Ladega and Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, are committed to promoting unity among Muslim communities and enhancing the practice of Islam within their administration.

Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adebayo Ladega subsequently acknowledged the significance of fostering strengthened ties between Sheikh Seifudeen Olowooribi and Sheikh Yahya Olohunisebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi, emphasising their presence to solicit the Muslim community’s prayer support for enduring peace and unity across Ikorodu. He underscored that security is foundational to achieving peace and unity, stating, “Where there is security, there will be peace and unity.”

Additionally, Hon. Lateefat Egbetokun, the APC Councillorship candidate for Ward E (Aga-Ijomu), received recognition during the event while other ward candidates managed various logistical aspects.

The APC flag-bearers, Hon. Prince Abdullateef Adebayo Ladega and Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, were blessed with prayers by Sheikh Yahya Olohunisebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi at his residence in Ward D (Itunmoja area) of Ikorodu LGA, with LOC Chairman Hon. R.I. Jinodu presenting the candidates.

Hon. R.I. Jinodu emphasised that the primary objective of this campaign is to achieve a decisive victory in the local government elections scheduled for July 12, 2025, through the robust support of the Muslim community. He highlighted that ensuring proper documentation, including voters’ cards, is no longer reversible due to guidelines instituted by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) regarding the local government election.

During his address, Sheikh Assamadaani, Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque Ikorodu, expressed the fundamental needs of the Ikorodu populace to the APC Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates.
