On September 9, 2025, the Lagos State Government began constructing a 200-meter road on Sanni Street in Ifelodun LCDA.

This project, initiated in response to demands from the Lagos State House of Assembly, aims to improve road infrastructure in rural and semi-urban communities.

The initiative addresses issues of poor road conditions, flooding, and inadequate lighting in the Amukoko and Musafejo communities, who hope for improved mobility and commerce.

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser on Rural Development, announced that the project will take six months and include solar-powered streetlights for enhanced security.

Hon. Lookman Olumo, who advocated for this development, thanked the government for its support and urged further rural projects for Ifelodun LCDA. Attendees included local leaders who praised the project as a crucial intervention.

Engineer Seun Orekomaya highlighted the construction of a 7.5 by 7.5 drainage system to manage flood control and ensure longevity. The ceremony reinforced the Lagos State Government’s commitment to rural development under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s leadership.
