The All Progressives Congress of Ikorodu Central Local Government Area has organised a general meeting for sensitization of the grassroots political members and to promote peace and unity within the Party for peaceful coexistence.

This event was held today, January 30th, 2025 at the Party secretariat of APC Ikorodu LGA located at 24, Awolowo Way, Oke Ota-Ona, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria with the presence of notable Political leaders i.e former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, An Elder State-man, Member of Lagos State Governance Advisory Committee, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; The Ikorodu APC Apex leader, Alhaji Musiliu Lawal-Animashaun; APC Party Chieftain, Alhaji Badru Enifeni; APC Ikorodu Division women leader, Alhaja Rashidat Bello; the Ikorodu central geopolitical wards Chairmen; Hon. Dr. Nurudeen Yekini Agbaje, Special Assistant to His Excellency Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu on Rural Development; the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina and its vice, Aareebinrin Hon. Princess (Dr.) Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the National Chairman, Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC); Rtd. Permanent Secretary and former Special Adviser on Education, Dr. Otunba Fatai Olukoga; Iya’Oloja General of Ikorodu Division, Chief Mrs. Dcns. Busola Isikalu and the local government aspirants and large numbers of the grassroots political members to withness the official declaration of Hon. Gbenga Shittu and its supporter from PDP to APC. 

The LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Waheed Oladimeji Animashaun in review statement of the past meeting held at the same venue, appreciates the party leaders and members there present, “Your effort and dedication for the APC Party is highly commendable”, “I appreciate and happy new year”, he appraised and urged the political members to endeavor to get their National Identify of Nigeria (NIN) in preparation for the registration of their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) and the coming local government elections. “Without NIN you will not be able to register for your PVC”, Party Chairman sensitized.

The APC Ikorodu LGA Party Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Ayanbadejo JP in his report emphasized on the importance of registering names in every meeting held for record purpose, said; failure to do so is like coming to play and sensitized the political grassroots member who has relocated from their previous to Ikorodu, Card damages or lost PVC should be prepared to register and do electoral electronic transfer for them to be able to demonstrate their franchise during election.

In addition, he also states the importance of the inner primary election, being an aspirant doesn’t consider you automatic candidate, the APC State Party has stated no refund of candidate ticket money, and being a contestant does not consider you automatic appointment.

Hon. Dr. Nurudeen Yekini Agbaje, Special Assistant to His Excellency Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu on Rural Development in his brief speech acknowledged the presence of the political leaders and members and urged urged members to stay steadfast in the ruling Party.

Rtd. Permanent Secretary and former Special Adviser on Education, Dr. Otunba Fatai Olukoga in his speech, generally urged the political members about the importance following the instruction of the Ruling Party.

“If you are a member of APC, you must follow the instruction of the Party”, he said.

Hon. Genga Shittle, in his response to the reason why he has decided to join the APC political Party, said; He is overwhelmed with the multiple crowd and welcoming resignation the Party has given, specified that he decided to join the ruling Party because it goes inline with his vision.

Prince Abiodun Ogunleye thereby endorsed Shittle by handed over the APC Party Flag as to welcome him to the ruling Party of Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
