The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, has organized the second edition of the Inter-School Debate Competition, which includes a cash prize presentation for the 16 secondary schools that participated across Ikorodu Division from the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwoolu. This initiative aims to enhance self-capacity building among students.
The event took place at the Council Secretariat, specifically in the O’clean event hall, located in Ikorodu Local Government, Lagos State, Nigeria. It was attended by teachers, prominent political leaders, the Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA ably represented by his media aide, Mr. Enitan Olukotun; Ikorodu Federal Constituency’s Representative, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, MHR ably representative by Hon. Musibau Alejo, Supervisor for Agric, Ikorodu LGA; staff members, management personnel, the executive team, supervisory councillors and others.
During the event, cash prizes were awarded from the First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, to all participating secondary schools of the first edition of this initiative with additional financial support by the Executive Chairman.
Among the sixteen (16) secondary schools that participated in the competition, only three (3) schools achieved qualification for the first (1st), second (2nd), and third (3rd) positions, which are as follows:
1. Elepe Community Senior High School (1st position), presented by Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina.
2. Government Senior Model College, Ikorodu (2nd position), presented by The Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, ably represented by his media aide, Mr. Olukotun Enitan.
3. Ipakodo Senior Grammar School (3rd position), presented by His Eminence, Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi (As – Samadani), the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu Division.
