Born on March 25, 1964, Senator Abiru has had a remarkable career spanning both the banking sector and public service.

He served as the Managing Director/CEO of Skye Bank (now Polaris Bank) and as the Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, where he facilitated the floating of an N80 billion bond, earning the state the EMEA Finance’s Best Local Currency Bond Award in 2012.

In the Senate, Senator Abiru has been a trailblazer, currently serving as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions.

His commitment to his constituents is evident through various initiatives, including the distribution of food packs to over 10,000 households in Lagos East to alleviate economic hardship.
