The Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Global (IHG) recently conducted a courtesy visit to the Ayangbure Palace in preparation for an important event scheduled for April 9, 2025.
An indoor meeting took place today, Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Ayangburen Palace to deliberate on the official date for announcing the establishment of the Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Global.
His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Adegorunshen V, expressed his appreciation to the Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Global for their attendance and suggested that April 12, 2025, would be the most suitable date for this announcement.
This date coincides with Odun Osu Day (Odun Ijesu), a significant occasion for all indigenes of Ikorodu, thereby enhancing awareness of the Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Global to make it historic.
The proposition was unanimously accepted and supported by the executive committee members present.
Consequently, the meeting previously scheduled for April 9, 2025, has been postponed to April 12, 2025, to align with the awareness initiative.
The Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Global is dedicated to elevating Ikorodu’s profile within the global tourism sector.
The organization comprises indigenous business leaders from Ikorodu residing across various regions of the world who have convened to strategize on the advancement of their heritage.
An honorary gift was conferred upon His Royal Majesty, Oba Shotobi, in acknowledgment of his significant contributions and his pivotal role in the establishment of the Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Global Association.
This gesture also embodies the Yoruba traditional cultural practice of acknowledging and reaching out to the monarch.
