The outreach commenced on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, at the Ayangburen Palace, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, specifically designed to benefit vulnerable populations and demonstrate the dividends of democracy.
This healthcare initiative will be conducted for three days across three geopolitical wards within the six wards comprising Ikorodu Local Government.
The schedule for the three-day medical outreach is as follows:
- Day One was successfully held today at the Oba Ayangburen Palace.
- Day Two is scheduled to occur tomorrow, April 16th, 2025, at Alagura Palace.

In his address, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina expressed his pleasure in welcoming the participants and beneficiaries to the flag-off ceremony of the Jigi Bola initiative.
He described the program as a testament to people-centred governance and a reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubuâs steadfast commitment to ensuring accessible and inclusive healthcare for all citizens.
The Executive Chairman emphasized the government’s belief that every individual, regardless of age, status, or background, possesses the right to quality healthcare.
He expressed the pride of Ikorodu Local Government in partnering with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Health District II, and CHAI in advancing this commendable cause.
He further noted that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s contributions have established one of the most influential public health interventions in Lagos State and that governance is most impactful when it reaches the grassroots level.
This year’s outreach continues to provide essential services, including free eye screenings, reading glasses, blood pressure checks, and enrollment in the Ilera Eko health insurance scheme, which is vital for achieving universal health coverage for the residents of Ikorodu division.
The Executive Chairman highlighted the detrimental effects of undetected vision problems on quality of life and emphasized that this outreach serves both as a preventive measure and a critical opportunity for early intervention.
He expressed sincere gratitude to their partners, the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Health District II, and CHAI, for their invaluable support and collaboration, which have enriched the initiative.
To His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Mr. Adesina extended profound appreciation for consistently opening his palace to support developmental initiatives, stating that such support is a vital pillar for community growth.
Furthermore, Adesina encouraged beneficiaries and all participants to take full advantage of this initiative and to act as health ambassadors, promoting the message of healthy living and advocating for regular medical check-ups.
Ikorodu is engaged in a transformative journey, which includes infrastructural development, economic empowerment, and, crucially, the health and well-being of its citizens.
He consequently encouraged the public to participate in the forthcoming 2025 local government elections by casting their votes for the “All Progressives Congress (APC)” throughout Nigeria. This engagement will enable the provision of essential services to the diligent citizens of the nation.
Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that no individual is left behind in this pursuit.
